Media workshop

I was in Kadoma again for most of last week. National AIDS Council organized a media workshop for journalists and editors representing all major national (and most provincial) media. It's a really cool concept actually :) they have those about twice a year and they train members of the media on general HIV and AIDS issues, NAC's role in the national response in Zimbabwe, funding, including Global Fund application process, etc. There was even a female condom demonstration (everyone liked that session haha)

Through this event journalists and editors become more familiar with issues related to HIV and AIDS in the country and they are able to cover them more accurately through their stories. Some of the people even seemed to get inspired to take a more active role in the response through their power as members of the media.

Random note: Also this past week there was a full lunar eclipse. I couldn't take any good pictures of it but it was... beautiful.
